Football fanatic. Stuck in traffic. Can’t get to his friends to watch the game, won’t dare head to a crowded bar on Super Bowl Sunday. His palms are sweaty, he’s agitated, he pulls out his phone. Biting his nails, he sighs in relief when he catches kick-off. He’s found his fix. He’s found AEREO.
We’ve Drafted a New OPN RECEIVER.
A new year, a new technology, a new way of life. Never again will you find yourself in the position of being an avid football fan who hits rock bottom and needs to find his fix. Now you have the gift of portability. And when it comes to sports, the only thing better than portability is LIVE access… and there is no arguing that sports are best live.
2.1 million people enjoyed the Super Bowl online via NBC this year. What wasn’t included in this stat were the football fans who also watched the Super Bowl live online, via Aereo. Aereo customers hosted Super Bowl parties for their friends and the enthusiasm for both football and Aereo was palpable. Not only were they able to watch the big game live on iPads (placed in bathrooms and kitchens so no valuable second went unwatched) but they streamed the game to their big TVs so they could watch as a group.
People complained that with NBC’s stream they missed the famous Super Bowl advertisements and Madonna’s highly anticipated halftime show. This was not the case for Aereo customers. They watched it all. Ads and Madonna were important for some people who only watch football as an excuse to socialize and indulge in the glory that is guacamole and beer. For some people, touchdown was Matthew Broderick’s Honda ad. Ultimately, the win was hanging out with friends who were in incredibly good moods because their beloved team (GO GIANTS!) won and I had the pleasure of introducing them to a fabulous little platform called Aereo.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW YORK GIANTS! We salute you.
